Labiaplasty is the surgery to reduce the size of the labia minora (the flaps of skin either side of the vaginal opening). Some women may want to have this procedure done due to discomfort and pain caused by excess labia whilst other women may want the procedure for cosmetic reasons. Whatever your reason may be, we are able to support you and provide you with the best treatment and aftercare. The procedure can be done under local anaesthetic or sedation if you wish. You will have dissolvable stitches in the area and we will be monitoring your recovery very closely to make sure you heal well.
With age and after excessive weight loss, women may find that their labia majora (big lips) may look deflated and wrinkly. This is easily rectified by skillfully injecting hyaluronic acid fillers in this area. The treatment takes up to an hour and is performed under local anaesthetic and patients are awake during the entire procedure. After the injections, the tissues will plump up over the following days, and women may be able to see complete results within the week. Of course, the fillers may need to be re-injected every 6 to 12 months or so for continued results. This is because the results of the procedure eventually fade even though special cross-linked hyaluronic acid molecules are used to increase the longevity of the product in the tissues.
This simple treatment can improve sensitivity in the area and, in some circumstances, make daily activities, such as sitting and wearing tight pants, much more comfortable. Of course, for many women, the main improvement is in the confidence gained.
We provide a safe and friendly environment and a supportive aftercare service for all patients. All procedures are carried out by an experienced female gynaecologist.

What happens during a labiaplasty?
The surgeon will mark the area to be treated prior to you having the sedation. The excess skin of the labia will be trimmed using a scalpel to make sure that the two labia are of equal size. The edges of the labia will be stitched using dissolvable stitches.
Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is performed under sedation, so you will not be in any pain during the procedure. You may have some discomfort following the procedure, which can be relieved using simple analgesia.
What are the complications of the procedure?
What is the recovery time after the procedure?
The full recovery time is 6 weeks. We advise to refrain from sexual interouse during this time to aid healing and avoid infection. You also need to avoid heavy lifting and use sanitary pads whilst you are haling.
